The projected timing for storms has shifted, with activity now expected from west to east starting in the early afternoon on Tuesday, July 18.
The storms could produce heavy downpours and gusty winds.
"Scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop this afternoon with heavy rain possible, bringing an isolated threat for flash flooding and damaging wind gusts," the National Weather Service said in a Hazardous Weather Outlook statement issued early Tuesday morning.
The outlook for Wednesday, July 19 calls for partly sunny skies and a high temperature in the mid-80s. There is a slight chance for isolated storms and showers in the afternoon and at night.
It will be mainly cloudy Thursday, July 20 with a high temperature again in the mid-80s and a new chance for spotty storms.
The outlook for Friday, July 21 calls for mostly cloudy skies with another chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly from the middle of the afternoon to the middle of the evening. The high temperature will be around 80 degrees.
